On the Firefly web app, it will be possible to create with GPT Image, within collaborative Boards designed like whiteboards. But Adobe has other surprises in store…

At its MAX conference in London, Adobe unveiled a series of new features for its Creative Cloud suite, with a strong focus on generative AI. The American company continues to strengthen Firefly, its AI-powered creative engine, with updates aimed at improving creators’ productivity by expanding customization and collaboration possibilities.

The Firefly web app supports third-party templates and collaborative boards

The new version of the Firefly web app establishes itself as a true center for creation assisted by artificial intelligence. Once the showcase of Firefly’s capabilities, this web application now integrates Boards, available in public beta. These creative boards offer a collaborative environment for moodboarding, rapid conceptualization or even team ideation. Designed as an immersive work surface driven by AI, Boards allow you to quickly iterate on variations of the same concept and enrich the creative process smoothly by experimenting. They are reminiscent of Figma’s whiteboards and Midjourney’s Moodboards, combining these two concepts.

These Boards are, of course, under the Firefly umbrella. However, a significant new feature is also arriving in the web app: a selection of generative models from major players like Google, with Imagen, and OpenAI, with GPT Image. Other models will also be offered, such as Flux for example. Thus, it will be possible to invoke these AIs in the web app to create visuals with them, if you feel that one of them does a better job than Firefly for a specific request. Of course, commercial use of the creations will only be guaranteed for content created with Adobe’s AI. These new features are accompanied by small adjustments, such as increased control over renderings, styling options, etc.

Improvements in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator…

Adobe is also extending its innovations to all of its flagship applications. Photoshop now benefits from an improved background removal tool, designed for faster and more precise clipping. Premiere Pro benefits from a new media intelligence feature that allows rapid exploration of large volumes of video footage; Illustrator introduces Text to Pattern generation from text ; while Adobe Express and InDesign also benefit from Firefly’s capabilities to generate images, videos, and animations on the fly.

New workflows integrate Photoshop:

These new features are part of Adobe’s broader push to improve the performance of its suite, with tools touted as up to five times faster and smoother workflows. All Firefly generative models—including the highly realistic Image Model 4 Ultra and the video model—are now generally available within supported apps, while Boards and the enhanced web app remain in public beta. Finally, the Adobe Content Authenticity platform, which allows creators to easily sign their work via Content Credentials, is also moving into public beta now.
