Google plans to incorporate AI Mode data into the Search Console, but apparently won’t report it separately. This leaves it unclear how AI search specifically impacts impressions and clicks.
When John Müller wrote a few days ago that data from the new Google AI Mode would also be included in the Search Console, there was initially hope that the data would be reported separately. This would have made it possible to identify differences in impressions and clicks between regular search and AI search.
It appears, however, that hope was premature. In a new comment on LinkedIn, Müller wrote that there are no plans to separately disclose the data. There will also be no changes to the API. There could be more information on this as early as next week:

Likewise, there will initially be no data on the search queries that Google AI Mode automatically generates from a user-entered search and then submits in parallel via query fan-out. This would make it possible to identify which search queries, in addition to those submitted by users, are relevant for selecting results in AI Mode.
