Notion launches AI for Work, an extension of its AI capabilities for professionals, with four tools designed to integrate into teams’ daily practices.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Notion unveiled a new suite of AI tools, called AI for work, which offers features dedicated to daily workflows. These four options integrate Notion AI and are already available in French or are currently being deployed. This is a new step for Notion in its unified tool project, just a few weeks after the launch of Notion Mail.
Notion AI for work, a Notion AI extension dedicated to professionals
Notion AI for Work is a new layer of AI capabilities within Notion, designed specifically for work environments. Presented as an evolution of Notion AI, this extension aims to make artificial intelligence more accessible and useful in daily workflows, without requiring additional subscriptions or configurations. It is based on latest generation language models, including GPT-4.1 and Claude 3.7 Sonnet, and is available in concrete tools oriented towards note-taking, information research, document writing and interoperability between business tools.
Notion AI is getting twice as powerful with a new toolbox integrated across your entire workspace. With this update, Notion AI can search across your business apps, automatically capture meeting notes, write detailed research reports in minutes, and interact with the latest AI models, Notion said in a statement.
Notion AI for Work doesn’t replace Notion AI: it builds on top of it by expanding its scope of use. Where Notion AI focused on individual tasks (text summaries, writing assistance, content generation), AI for Work introduces a collaborative and integrated logic for team uses. Everything remains centralized in Notion’s single interface, without additional modules. This evolution is part of the company’s broader strategy to make Notion a complete workspace, where AI capabilities are natively included.
The 4 new features of Notion AI for work
Four initial features make up this new AI for work suite. The AI Meeting Notes and Research Mode tools are already available, while Enterprise Search and AI Connectors (see below) are currently being rolled out. All of this is available in French from launch.
1. Automated meeting note-taking
Among the new features introduced by Notion, automatic note-taking in meetings is a significant change. Specifically, this feature allows the tool to automatically record and summarize discussions during meetings. At the end of the discussions, the user receives a structured report directly, which should simplify discussions and limit the risk of forgetting something.
2. A search extended to other applications
Notion AI for Work also offers significant improvements to internal search. In addition to searching information stored directly in Notion, it will now be possible to extend these searches to third-party applications commonly used in businesses, such as Teams, Slack, Google Drive, GitHub, Jira, SharePoint, Gmail, Zendesk, and Salesforce. This centralization allows teams to more quickly access all the knowledge scattered across different tools.
3. Search Mode for fast document generation
Another notable new feature in this update is Research Mode, which automatically generates detailed documents in just a few minutes, leveraging internal company data or data accessible through connected applications. This feature is particularly targeted at situations where reports or analyses need to be produced quickly from existing information.
4. Direct access to advanced AI models
Finally, Notion AI for Work simplifies access to advanced artificial intelligence models, such as GPT-4.1 and Claude 3.7 Sonnet, which were previously rarely available without specific integrations or additional costs. These models can be used directly within Notion, without additional subscriptions or specific technical configuration.
Notion AI for Work is offered at no additional cost to users who already have the Notion AI option included in their subscription. No additional pricing is required to access the new features, which are included in the existing plan.
