Google’s new AI search engine

Google’s new AI search engine

Digital transformation is a more than evident fact and this process of integration and application of new technologies in all sectors has revolutionized the way in which brands relate to their audience.

It is no longer enough to have a website and wait for your target audience to reach it, but you have to take action to direct them to it. And this is where Enjoy Minder comes in as a web positioning agency.

But what should be done to attract users to a website? It’s very simple: you have to optimise your search engine results by optimising organic search engines and by using paid media, i.e. paying for ads on search engines, social networks or third-party websites.

And you may be wondering: What does all this have to do with Google’s new AI search engine? We’ll tell you below!

Meet SGE, the new AI-powered search engine

So, Google’s new Search Generative Experience (SGE) search engine is making a strong entrance and is looking to change everything. And, although it is in an experimental phase, as a web positioning agency we know that it is packed with new features that will make the entire current SEO positioning panorama have to be reconsidered.

One of the most exciting developments is that it incorporates generative artificial intelligence (AI) functionalities into the traditional Google search engine. This could shake up all current SEO positioning strategies.

As of today, we can see that traditional organic search results are no longer visible on the entire screen, so we can expect a general decline in the number of clicks.

SEO optimization and positioning

It is predicted that there will be a decrease of between 18% and 24% in organic traffic, so as a web positioning agency we recommend three key optimizations that cannot be missing from your website.

  • EEAT: These are the initials of Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust. With all these new changes, it will be very important for your website to be recognized by the search engine as a reliable source of information.
  • Structured data: In this new phase of Google, structured data will have a lot of weight, and in some way, data, event structures and even product specifications speak the search engine’s own language.
  • Conversational style: AI, and specifically ChatGPT, has changed the way chatbots speak and search by 180 degrees. Therefore, it is very likely that the writing style of web texts will be much more relevant. That is, as there is a general dehumanization due to the use and, in some cases, the abuse of ChatGPT, humanized texts will be preferred, ones in which concepts will have more weight than keywords.

SEO tools to face this change

While it is true that many changes are coming, the same tools will continue to be used to carry out audits, such as Sistrix, Ahrefs or SEMrush. As a fact, we will say that with this new paradigm, it will be necessary to work hard on SEO positioning, since beyond position 9 or 10, brands will not have visibility.

Furthermore, we can see that rankings will have very little weight as the click-through rate (CTR) declines. Therefore, the three tools mentioned above will have to find a way to offer new ways of generating SEO positioning recommendations and analysis.

At Enjoy Minder, as a web positioning agency, we are prepared to face this new challenge and do everything possible to ensure that our clients continue to be positioned within the top 10.
